Axis Prototypes offers scanning services through a portable optical CMM 3D scanner, the MetraSCAN 3D, in order to deliver accurate 3D scan files. 3D scanning services can be a valuable time and cost saver when reverse engineering designs or when you need to compare a fabricated part to the original CAD (Computer Aided Design) rendering. 3D scanning tolerances are typically between 20 and 50 microns.
